Tammy O'Grady

My Story

Tammy is the Missions & Ministry Team Director, which means she leads the team and the church in staying informed about the missionaries we support financially and prayerfully. The goal is for the church to be on mission.

Tammy grew up in Louisiana in a Christian home and went to a Southern Baptist Church where her mother immersed her in mission organizations:  learning about missionaries and being involved in mission serving and ministry. Tammy became a Christian at eight years old and always said she wanted to be a missionary one day. In college, God called her to be a missionary.

Tammy graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas with a Master of Divinity degree with an emphasis in missions and evangelism. She has bachelor’s degrees in religious education and elementary education. While at seminary, she met her husband, Michael O’Grady. They have two daughters and five grandchildren.

Whether on a mission field in a public school classroom in the United States or in another country, Tammy looks for ways to share her faith in Jesus Christ. Missions is Tammy’s passion! Serving others and being on mission are some of the ways she shares her passion. Now that she has retired from public school teaching, she has more time to follow her heart.

Tammy is also an avid LSU Tigers fan. She loves chocolate and the color purple.
